Sewing

Today I finally made my first pillow case dress for Nathalie. I am so happy to have finally learned how to make something on my sewing machine. My mom graciously gave it to me as a wedding gift in 2006, but I never learned to use it. My dad did not think that home ec would be beneficial to me so it was 4 years of math & science for me. Thankfully my husband took the class in high school & remembered how to use a sewing machine, & can you believe it, he taught me how to use it too! Who would have thought?!

I am really excited to use it so that I can make clothes for Nathalie & baby gifts for my friends! Can't wait to learn more.....maybe one day I will have an etsy shop, you just never know about me! :)

Today we finished up the flowerbeds, they were in desperate need of some TLC after our builder 'professionally' landscaped them himself & the mulch washed away the next week. We were beginning to think we were the house that looked like no one lived there since the weeds had overgrown so badly into the flowerbeds & they were taller than our bushes! LOL. I'm just happy they are done & I am so proud of my hubby! It was a busy weekend for us, we hung out with some friends Friday night & had a birthday party on Sat for Jaiden, our neighbor's little boy, he turned 1. We went to the Levitt Shell by the Dixon Art Gallery to hear Brittany Russell & the Trunk Monkey's Play & then headed over to the Memphis Zoo to stroll around with our friends Jason, Julia, & Little Landon for members night. All in all it was a great weekend & Nathalie had lots of fun! She loves going places, she is such a little ham :) This next week will be busy planning for our first family vacation to Destin, FL, I can't wait! :) Have a great week everyone!

So Nathalie did better this morning when I dropped her off at daycare. She moved up into the creeper room on Monday & had a little stranger anxiety when I dropped her off. She would start crying and try to hang on to me for dear life, poor baby. But today was better, I was able to distract her with her friend who luckily arrived at the same time & we were both able to make a clean get away. I am trying to not visit this week so she can get used to the new teachers, they are very sweet ladies. But I know she missed Ms. Barbara & Ms. Jannelle (I do too!)

Wow how the time flies.... It has been over a year since my first attempt at creating a blog! So lets recap the last year, we closed on our new house on July 31st. I delivered a healthy 7lb 10oz 20 1/2 in baby girl at 3:11 on September 25th. Her name is Nathalie Elizabeth Gray & she has beautiful red hair & blue eyes. We celebrated Thanksgiving 2009 at our new home with our extended family.

Nathalie has truely been a blessing to us, she is so full of energy. She brings a smile to my face every day. She is such a good baby! She is now 9 months old & I can't believe how fast the time has flown. We had her 9mo check up yesterday, she weighs 21.5 lbs & is 29 1/2 in tall, I think she is going to be tall like her daddy. We are preparing to take our first family vacation at the end of the month. We are going to Destin, FL!
